Boy Wander: A Coming of Age Memoir by Jobert Abueva, Rattling Good Yarns Press, LLC.Michael Samuel Prize, Jobert Abueva new YA from Lammy winner Abdi Nazemian and new books from Lammy finalists Stephanie Adams-Santos and Nicole Melleby! And we have just the books to scratch that itch! This list is full of exciting and intriguing writing, including a memoir by the Inaugural J. No school, no teaching– even summer Fridays! But for us who are still 9-5ing it, we remember what the smell of cut grass meant to us as kids: reading in the park, or long visits to the library. But there are some solid choices for this month, so I left any potential early releases off my predictions this month.May means the start of freedom for so many of us.

Cosby novel or The Whispers, which both publish June 6th, to this month’s predictions. Keeping that in mind, I debated whether to add the new S.A. In 2022, the majority of early release picks were thrillers or mysteries. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining.

That book was seemingly a big success, so it is a possibility that Yours Truly may be a May selection. As I said in my April predictions, BOTM featured Part of Your World last year despite never having selected an Abby Jimenez book before. Because I think it is extremely likely that The Secret Book of Flora Lee will be a selection, I ruled out other potential selections about WWII, such as To Die Beautiful by Buzzy Jackson, The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece by Tom Hanks, and Good Night, Irene by Luis Alberto Urrea (which I think could be a June pick).Įarly hint seems to indicate that this will be a May pick. As I have previously said, this is one of the genres I find the most difficult to predict.

I always have such a difficult time narrowing down historical fiction predictions. Deadly consequences… Bestselling sensation Juniper Song is not who she says she is, she didn’t write the book she claims she wrote, and she is most certainly not Asian American-in this chilling and hilariously cutting novel It definitely seems like Yellowface is the most BOTM-ish of Kuang’s books. However, if I read into the fact that Babel was an add-on at the end of 2022, I could see Yellowface as a selection. As this will be one of the biggest books of the year, I am doubtful that it will be a BOTM selection.
